CV axis equips rotors of electric motors

In an automated production plant for equipping electric motor rotors with permanent magnets, a highly dynamic 2-axis system supplied by us is used, which is constructed with a CV linear motor axis. The goal was to insert the magnets into the designated recesses of the laminated core with repeatable accuracy while achieving high cycle rates for economical series production.

For this application, the CV axis is combined to form a YZ gantry. The system ensures precise and dynamic positioning of the magnets. The magnets are automatically supplied and precisely inserted into the grooves of the rotor by the extremely light boom. The high rigidity and repeat accuracy of the direct drive ensures consistent process quality, even at high cycle rates. A rotary table from the DMN series, also supplied by us, is used to rotate and precisely position the rotor. It enables backlash-free and dynamic movements, allowing the individual assembly positions to be approached precisely without mechanical switching.
